The Alligator-River Story

Rosemarry is a young woman of about 21 years of age. For a several months, she has been engaged to a young man named Geoffrey. The problem she faces is that between her and her fiancé, there lies a river. Not ordinary river, but a deep, wide river filled with hungry alligators.

Rosemarry wonders how she can cross the river. She remembers Sinbad, who owns the only boat in the area. She then approaches Sinbad, asking him to take her across. He replies, “Yes, I will take you across if you spend the night with me”. Shocked at his offer, she turns to another acquaintance, Fredderick. Fredderick responds by saying, “Yes Rosemarry, I understand your problem – but it’s your problem, not mine”. Rosemarry decides to return to Sinbad, spends the night with him, and in the morning, he takes her across the river.

Her meeting with Geoffrel is warm. But on the evening before they are to be married, Rosemary feels she must tell Geoffrey how she succeded in getting across the river. Geoffrey responds by saying, “I wouldn’t marry if you were the last woman in the earth”.

Finally, Rosemarry turns to her friend Dennis. Dennis listens to her story and says. “Well, Rosemary, I don’t love you… but I will marry you”. And thas all we know of the story.

Kelompok pertama :
“Kalo menurut kita yang paling buruk ya si Sinbad, soalnya dia itu ngegunain kesempatan banget”

Kelompok kedua :
“Kalo kita sih menilai, yang paling buruk juga Sinbad… soalnya dia gak tulus! Udah gitu dia awal bencana”

Kelompok ketiga :
“Wah, kalo menurut kelompok kita justru Geoffrey lah! Gak nerima apa adanya”

Dari tiga jawaban tadi gw bisa ngeliat, sudut pandang bisa ngebuat segala sesuatunya itu berbeda, bahkan bertolak belakang
Dari sudut cowok, mungkin yang keliatan paling buruk ya si Sinbad
Secara dia memanfaatkan kesempatan dalam kesempitan
Tapi kalo dari sudut pandang cewek?
Malahan si Geoffrey yang paling salah!
Rosemary udah berkorban sebegitunya eh malah gak jadi nikah

Keliatan banget kan, sudut pandang itu bisa sangat bertolak belakang untuk konteks yang sama?
